The Miami-Dade Police Department, Homicide Bureau is investigating an incident that occurred at the above listed location. According to investigators, officers responded to a 911 call in reference to a brush fire. Upon their arrival, they discovered a person burned and unresponsive. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue units responded and pronounced the victim deceased on the scene. The identity of the victim and cause of death cannot be confirmed at this time pending the Medical Examiner's report.

UPDATE #2: According to investigators, the victim, Yolanda Samaniego, was reported missing by family members. On September 17, 2014 a brush fire was reported and responding units discovered a deceased body. The Medical Examiner's Office identified the body as the missing person, Yolanda Samaniego. As investigators continued to follow all leads, the 911 center received a call from Marvin Rivera-Montalvo claiming to have information on the death of Ms. Samaniego. Investigators made contact with Rivera-Montalvo and he stated that Mrs. Samaniego's husband killed her. As they continued to interview him, Rivera-Montalvo confessed that on Saturday, September 13, 2014, he and other unknown individuals planned to murder Mrs. Samaniego. He stated that he lured her to his vehicle and one of the other individuals shot her. Rivera-Montalvo then drove to a local hotel to prepare for the disposal of Mrs. Samaniego's body. Later that evening he drove to an open field on N.W. 64 Street & N.W. 82 Avenue to dispose of the body. Several days later, September 17, 2014, Rivera-Montalvo returned to the location where he disposed Mrs. Samaniego's body and lit her corpse on fire. He was placed under arrest and charged with 1st Degree Murder.
