(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Miami-Dade Police Department, Special Victims Bureau, is investigating an incident the occurred in Unincorporated Miami-Dade County. According to investigators the mother of the victim, Jayden Gomez, along with Justin Capers, were inside the residence when they heard a loud noise coming from the front door.  As she walked towards the front door to inquire, she was confronted by the subject, Ricardo Desravines, who began to assault her. Justin Capers then attempted to assist the mother when to subject produced a firearm and a struggle ensued. During the struggle the subject discharged the firearm striking Jayden Gomez in the lower extremity. The subject fled the scene in an unknown direction. The toddler was transported to Ryder Trauma Center where he is listed in stable condition. Investigators continue to follow all leads and urge the community for information on the whereabouts of Ricardo Desravines. He is considered armed and dangerous.
