(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Miami-Dade Police Department, Homicide Bureau is investigating an incident that occurred at the above listed location.  According to investigators, the victim, Eric Harris, and the subject, Juan Agriel, were involved in a verbal dispute.   The dispute escalated and Juan Agriel attempted to assault Mr. Harris with a tire iron.  Mr. Harris produced a firearm and shot Juan Agriel.  He then contacted police and remained on the scene.  Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to the scene and transported the subject to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  Mr. Harris was transported to the Homicide Bureau where he provided a formal statement.  All findings are being presented to the State Attorney's Office for review.  Charges, if any, are pending.
