The Miami-Dade Police Department Traffic Homocide Unit, is investigating a traffic crash that resulted in two deaths. According to investigators, the Nissan was traveling northbound on N.W. 32 Avenue when it was struck at the intersection of N.W. 54 Street by the Hyundai who was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed. The preliminary investigation indicates that the Hyundai did not obey the red light traffic signal causing the crash. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded and pronounced both drivers deceased on the scene.
Witnesses informed investigators that an older model white pick-up truck with blue lettering was at the scene at the time of the crash. Investigators would like to speak to the driver of the truck to seek further information regarding the crash.
While investigators were processing the scene, a 2009 Nissan Maxima traveling northbound on N.W. 32 Avenue drove past the perimeter points and through the accident scene at a high rate of speed almost striking several people. Sadly, a dog was struck and killed by the vehicle as it drove through the scene. Officers were able to stop the vehicle several blocks away and take the driver into custody. Upon further investigation, the driver was fouind to be driving under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested for D.U.I.
