(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating a police involved shooting that occurred at above listed location.  According to investigators, the Robbery Intervention Detail was assisting the Miami Police Department in apprehending a homicide subject.  The officers were conducting surveillance at a funeral home where the subject was attending, when he exited the funeral home leaving in a vehicle.  A traffic stop was then initiated with a marked police vehicle, when the subject brandished a firearm which led to shots being fired.  Once under arrest, the officers discovered that the subject was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to the scene and transported the subject to a nearby hospital where he is listed in stable condition.  None of the officers were injured during the incident.
