Animals Rescued From Slaughter House

(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Miami-Dade Police Department, Organize Crime Section in collaboration with Animal Recovery Mission (A.R.M.) and the State Attorney's Office culminated in an investigation which resulted in two arrests and the closure of a slaughter house.  The five month investigation revealed that animals were being starved, deprived from water and slaughtered in vicious ways.  Over 3,000 animals were recovered on property from such poor conditions that they had to be euthanized by veterinarians on the scene.  The conditions were deplorable with deceased animals throughout the property.  The rescued animals are going to be in the custody of A.R.M. so they may receive the proper nutritional and medical assistance.  A search warrant and two arrest warrants for animal cruelty were executed today by the entities mentioned above.

Update #1: Miami-Dade Police Department investigators have released a surveillance video. Video can be viewed in the FTP site.

Update #2: On March 14, 2015, Ruben M. Rodriguez turned himself into police reference his outstanding warrant on the listed charges and subject, Henry Gustavo Parra Oporta is still at large.

Update #3: On March 24, 2015, Henry Gustavo Parra Oporta turned himself in to police reference his outstanding warrant.  Listed subject was charged accordingly.
