Marked Police Vehicles Vandalized


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Miami-Dade Police Department, Arson Unit, is investigating a vandalism that occurred on Friday, March 13, 2015, in the area of NE 200th Street & NE 6th Avenue. At approximately 5:30 a.m. unknown person(s) used an unknown substance to vandalize a Miami-Dade Police Department and a Hallandale Beach Police Department marked police vehicles by setting them on fire. Cell phone video of the Miami-Dade Police Department vehicle has been posted to the FTP site. As a reminder under F.S.S. 119 the officers' addresses and personal information are exempt and protected under the statute. It is requested that officers' safety and privacy be taken into consideration when reporting on this matter.

Update #1: On May 06, 2015, Miami-Dade Police Department investigators have released surveillance video.  Video can be viewed in the FTP site.
