(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) is investigating a police involved shooting that occurred at above listed location.  According to investigators, three officers from the Miami-Dade Police Department, Northside District, Neighborhood Resource Unit (NRU) were on routine community bike patrol when they were dispatched to NW 8 Avenue and 75 Street, reference shots fired in the area.  Upon arrival a confrontation ensued between the officers and the subject, at which time one of the officers retrieved his firearm and shot at the subject, fatally wounding him.  A Cobray, m-11, assault weapon, was recovered on the scene.  None of the officers were injured during the incident.  FDLE will continue the investigation and will provide information as it becomes available.
