(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- The Miami-Dade Police Department, Public Corruption Unit, along with the Miami-Dade County Internal Services Division and the Miami-Dade County State Attorney’s Office announce the arrest of Amancio Alonso, the owner of MacMillan Oil Company and Hialeah Transport. The arrest stems from an investigation involving overbilling to the City of Hialeah and Miami-Dade Aviation between the years 2009 - 2014. During the delivery process, Amancio Alonso would order drivers of Hialeah Transport, a sister company to MacMillan Oil, to deliver regular 87 octane gasoline but bill for midgrade 89 octane. The drivers would produce fraudulent tickets and documents by altering the octane and type of gasoline delivered to the City of Hialeah and Miami-Dade Aviation. The customers would then sign the documents indicating that they received midgrade (89 octane) gasoline, when in reality the drivers knew they were delivering 87 octane. From January 2009 - August 2011 the City of Hialeah was overbilled $46,911.83 and from January 2011 – June 2014 Miami-Dade Aviation was overbilled $3,221.47. An arrest warrant was issued for Amancio Alonso and he was placed under arrest.
