Homicide Investigation


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Miami-Dade Police Department, Homicide Bureau is investigating an incident that occurred at the above listed location. According to investigators the victim, Jose Santos Amaya Guardado, was reported missing on Sunday June 28, 2015. Family members continued to search for their loved one in nearby areas. On Wednesday July 1, 2015 the victim’s brother discovered what appeared to be a partially buried body in a nearby wooded area and contacted 911. Uniform officers responded to the scene and confirmed the remains of a deceased person. The victim’s body was removed from the ground surface and was transported to the  Medical Examiner’s Office for further investigation. The medical examiner determined the cause of death to be trauma and ruled it to be a homicide.

The investigations is ongoing.

Update #1: According to investigators, three subjects have been identified and charged with the death of Jose Santos Amaya Guardado.  The actual charges are not being released at this time due to the arrest warrant being sealed.  Additional arrests are forthcoming. 

Update #2: Upon further investigation, detectives have arrested Desiray Alisha Strickland.  Strickland was charged accordingly.
