(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Miami-Dade Police Department, Economic Crimes Bureau links car dealership finance manager to a string of fraudulent transactions.  Investigators stated that they were contacted by a department store regarding fraudulent transactions.  Through investigative means, detectives were to determine that Osvaldo Batista was making large purchases utilizing credit card numbers.  Further investigation revealed that Batista works for car dealership as Finance Manager and his position gave him access to patron's personal information.  Batista would place orders over the phone and would provide patron's credit card information to complete the purchase.  Detectives made contact with Batista and obtained consent to enter his residence.  They were able to find documentation linking to the fraudulent purchases and recover approximately $5,000.00 in new merchandise.  According to the documentation found in Batista's residence, he purchased high-end clothing and miscellaneous items.  He was placed under arrest and charged accordingly.
