Armed Robbery


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

 The Miami-Dade Police Department's Robbery Bureau is seeking the assistance of the community in identifying and/or locating a man who robbed and shot a woman in Southwest Miami-Dade late Thursday morning.

According to investigators, Xiu Li Wang was approached by an armed male while walking home from a nearby retail store in the area of S.W. 80 Street and S.W. 72 Avenue shortly after 11:30 this morning. The robber demanded that Wang give him her purse. An altercation ensued and Wang was shot in the leg and her purse stolen.

She was transported to South Miami Hospital in stable condition.  

The robber was last seen fleeing eastbound on 80 Street in a white, four door, Chevrolet.
