Aggravated Battery with a Motor Vehicle |

The Miami-Dade Police Department, Northside District General Investigations Unit is investigating an aggravated battery with a motor vehicle that occurred this afternoon in the area of NW 23 Avenue and NW 44 Street that left a 14 year old in the hospital. Investigators say that an emergency call was received at approximately 5:45 p.m. regarding a juvenile, riding a bicycle, was hit by a vehicle and fled the scene. Through the investigation, it was later determined that the victim, Dykwon Dye, was being chased by a blue Kia Sportage occupied by two individuals. The vehicle struck Dykwon leaving him injured. The subjects then took the bicycle Dykwon was riding and fled in the vehicle north bound. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded and transported Dykwon to Ryder Trauma Center where he is in stable condition. The investigation continues.
