Woman Shot by Ex-husband


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Miami-Dade Police Department, Homicide Bureau is investigating an incident in Hialeah Gardens where a female was found deceased outside her vehicle. Investigators say that the Hialeah Gardens Police Department along with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to 8186 NW 99 Terrace, Hialeah Gardens, in regards to a female shot. Once the units arrived, they discovered a female, Diana Maria Castro, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  She was pronounced deceased on the scene.

Later that evening, Josue David Castro, the ex-husband, responded to MDPD Midwest District and surrendered to police.  The investigation revealed that Josue David Castro was waiting outside of the residence for Diana Maria Castro to arrive.  Once she arrived, he approached her and shot her multiple times.  Their two girls, 9 and 4 year old, were inside the vehicle at the time of the incident but were not injured.  Department of Family and Children were contacted to initiate an investigation.  Josue David Castro was placed under arrest and charged accordingly.
