Home Invasion Robbery


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Miami-Dade Police Department’s Robbery Bureau is seeking the assistance of the community in identifying and/or locating three men who early this morning (Monday, February 1), assaulted and robbed a female victim in Southwest Miami-Dade. 

Detectives say just before 6:00 a.m. as Mirta Valdes attended to pet chickens in her backyard at 6275 SW 85 Avenue, three men armed with a gun and a knife, and wearing ski masks, jumped the fence of the residence and confronted her.  In the ensuing altercation, Ms. Valdes was beaten and sustained a head injury. 

The thieves ordered her back into the residence and demanded that she give up a safe located in a closet.  They ransacked the property, stole jewelry and the safe, and fled the residence by unknown means.
