Domestic Dispute

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --

The Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD), Northside District, is investigating a disturbance where the mother believes her son was involved in a robbery overnight.

At approximately one in the afternoon officers responded to 12701 NW 17 Place in regards to a disturbance between a mother and her son.  The mother stated to the arriving officers that her son fled the home after an argument ensued because she believed he was involved in a robbery overnight.  As officers were interviewing the mother they spotted the juvenile across the street.  The subject once again fled and led officers in a foot chase where he was able to double back and jump into one of the marked police cars and flee the area.

Officers lost sight of the car, numerous 911 calls were then received of a police car driving erratically and striking approximately three civilian cars.  The subject was then located once he lost control and crashed into a building at 2601 NW 175 Street.

Miami Beach Police Department, Motorcycle Units, working a funeral off-duty detail in the area witnessed the accident and observed the subject attempting to flee on foot.  They then assisted MDPD with apprehending the subject.

The subject was treated on scene by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue for minor injuries.  Victims of the Hit & Run were being treated for minor injuries and none of the officers were injured during the incident.

The subject is facing multiple charges and is being questioned by detectives from our Robbery Bureau in regards to his involvement if any into any robbery.
