The Miami-Dade Police Department’s Robbery Bureau is seeking the assistance of the community in identifying and/or locating a man who assaulted and robbed a male victim outside a convenience store at 1735 NW 69 Terrace in Northwest Miami-Dade.
Detectives say that on April 21, just after 12:00 noon, the male victim entered the store. Shortly thereafter the subject was observed entering the store and walking aimlessly around.
The subject followed the victim as he exited the store, then confronted him with a firearm and attempted to snatch the victim's chain from his neck. The victim attempted to run back into the store, but his path was blocked by the armed robber who struck him in the face and head with the firearm. In the ensuing struggle, the victim was able to free himself and run into the store, where he was assisted by store clerks.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded and treated the victim for a contusion to his head and lacerations to his face, sustained during the robbery.
The subject was last seen fleeing eastbound on foot with the victim's property.
