The Miami-Dade Police Department’s Robbery Bureau is seeking the assistance of the community in identifying and/or locating a man who robbed and assaulted a couple at their home at 8005 NW 18th Court, on Thursday, July 7th.
Investigators say that around 8:00 o’clock that morning, Elaine Rozier returned to her home after a morning jog and was confronted at gunpoint by a male intruder who was already inside the residence. He forced her to open the bedroom where her husband slept, ordered them to the ground and ransacked the residence stealing money, jewelry, cellphones and a .38 Derringer handgun. He then forced Rozier and her husband to crawl to the bathroom, where he doused them with chlorine bleach. He later locked them inside their garage.
The robber also tried, unsuccessfully, to steal their vehicle, eventually fleeing on foot with the property estimated at more than $40,000 in value.
Video surveillance footage of the subject leaving residence may be obtained on the FTP site.
