Traffic Fatality


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Miami-Dade Police Department, Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal crash that resulted in the driver losing his life.

Investigators say that a Dodge Ram 1500 driven by Alejandro Diaz, was traveling westbound SW 42 Street at a high rate of speed.  Mr. Diaz lost control of his vehicle causing it to slide into the rear of the home located at 14878 SW 42 Terrace.  The vehicle then collided into a concrete pillar at the home and coming to a rest against a wooden fence.  Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded and pronounced the driver deceased.

Investigators are not discarding the possibility of alcohol and/or drugs being involved.
