The Miami-Dade Police Department’s Homicide Bureau has released video surveillance footage of a shooting last October 9, in which one man was killed and another critically wounded. The detectives have made one arrest in the case and are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and/or locating a second subject.
The investigators say that just before ten o’clock that Sunday night (10-09-2016), two black males, both wearing sweaters with hoodies, approached the victims outside a food store at 7501 NW 22nd Avenue. The subject dressed in a red hoodie, removed a rifle from his backpack and fired at 22-year old Curtel Jenkins and 25-year old Daniel Sims. Jenkins was killed. Sims, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds, was transported to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Investigations subsequently led to the arrest of 25-year old Michael Livingston, who has been charged with First Degree Murder.
The hunt for his accomplice continues. Information leading to his location and arrest can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers, by calling 305-471-8477 and could result in a reward of up to $3,000.
