Homicide

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --

Detectives from the Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD), Homicide Bureau are conducting an investigation into the death of 65 year old Vicki Feeley in southwest Miami-Dade.

Investigators say on Saturday, October 22, 2016, shortly after 8:00 p.m., officers responded to calls of an injured female in the area of SW 112 Terrace and SW 128 Court. The preliminary investigation reveals while outside of her residence, the victim was approached by unknown subject(s) attempting to rob her.  A physical confrontation ensued resulting in the victim being injured.  The subject(s) then fled the area by unknown means.  Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department personnel responded and transported the victim to a nearby hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Update #1:  Detectives investigating this homicide have now identified a vehicle; a pickup truck, silver or grey in color, which they believe may have been involved in this incident. The investigators are seeking the assistance of the community in this ongoing investigation.

Update #2: On Thursday, October 27, 2016, Liz Corcho was arrested for her involvement in the murder of Vicki Feely (victim). Liz Corcho was taken into custody in Homestead, Florida, after bank personnel notified police that Liz Corcho attempted to cash a check belonging to Vicky Feeley.  Liz Corcho confessed as to her involvement in the murder of Vicki Feeley.

According to investigators, Liz Corcho and co-defendant, Carlos Mojica, were driving around the shopping center looking for a victim to rob, when they observed Vicki Feeley enter a store. Corcho and Mojica parked their vehicle, waited for Vicki Feely to exit the store, and followed her home. As the victim was unloading her vehicle, Mojica and Corcho pulled up to the driveway. Mojica exited the subject vehicle and grabbed the victim’s purse, demanding that she let it go. While struggling for her purse, Mojica dragged the victim back to his vehicle and Mojica jumped into the passenger seat. The driver, Corcho, accelerated to flee the scene while the victim held on to the purse, dragging her several feet. Ultimately falling underneath the vehicle and was run over. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where she later died.

Charges are pending at this time for Carlos Mojica.

The investigation continues.
