Detectives from the Miami-Dade Police Department Traffic Homicide Unit are investigating a collision between a private school bus and a 2001 Toyota Camry, which resulted in the driver of the Camry sustaining critical injuries.
Investigators say just before 6:00 a.m., Friday morning, the driver of the school bus exited a private parking lot, making a right turn to travel southbound on NW 137 Avenue. The Camry, traveling southbound on NW 137 Avenue, struck the bus causing the car to cross the median and finally coming to a rest at the guardrail.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department personnel who responded to the scene, had to use a hydraulic tool to extricate the driver from the Camry. He was transported to Kendall Regional Trauma Center in critical condition.
The investigation continues.
