According to investigators on Monday, February 20, 2017, shortly after seven o’clock in the morning, MDPD Northside District officers along with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) personnel were dispatched to a residence, located at 1839 NW 74 Street, in reference to an elderly male on the floor and unresponsive. Upon their arrival, they located the victim, Carlton Fair, with an apparent gunshot wound to his abdomen. MDFR personnel determined the victim was without vital signs and pronounced him deceased.

Further investigation revealed that while visiting the victim’s residence, Lashundra Fair shot and killed him. She then fled the residence and discarded the firearm in a neighboring yard.

On March 2, 2017, Lashundra Fair was apprehended and transported to the MDPD Homicide Bureau for questioning. She provided investigators with a statement detailing her involved in the homicide and was charged accordingly.
