Detectives from the Miami-Dade Police Department, Homicide Bureau are investigating an incident where a 21 year old University of Miami student was found deceased inside of his apartment.
According to investigators, just before 3:30 p.m., on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, officers from South Miami Police Department and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) personnel were dispatched to 6640 SW 57 Avenue Apt. #F-204, to reports of an unresponsive male. Responding officers and MDFR personnel discovered the unresponsive male lying on the bathroom floor. MDFR personnel determined the 21 year old male, later identified as Nicolas De Lavalette, was deceased.
The victim’s body was transported to the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner Department for post mortem examination.
The initial investigation revealed there was no trauma observed on the victim’s body and foul play was not suspected.
On Thursday, March 30, 2017, detectives advised the cause and manner of the victim’s death would be pending further studies and investigation.
The investigation continues.
