The Miami-Dade Police Department, Homicide Bureau is investigating a shooting that left one man dead in Southwest Miami Dade.
According to investigators, shortly after 3 p.m., uniform officers responded to a 911 call of a male shot. Officers arrived on scene and discovered the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, they made contact with a second male on the scene who was uncooperative and requested to be transported to the Hospital. Preliminary investigation revealed that a verbal altercation ensued between the two males resulting in the fatal shooting.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to the scene and determined the victim to be deceased. The second male was transported to Baptist Hospital for medical care.
The investigation continues.
UPDATE #1: The deceased male has been identified as Magdiel Hernandez, 11/08/1978, 9149 S.W. 72 Avenue #U01. Investigators confirmed that he is an employee of AAA, and had responded to the residence for a service call.
UPDATE #2: The subject has been identified as Jesus Esquivel, 10/16/1953, 9955 S.W. 87 Court. He was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder.
