The Miami-Dade Police Department, Homicide Bureau is investigating a shooting that left one woman dead and another one injured in Southwest Miami Dade.
According to investigators, shortly after 9:00p.m., uniform officers responded to a 911 call of shots fired. Officers arrived on the scene and discovered a silver colored vehicle that crashed into a tree. When the officers approached, they found two females suffering from gunshot wounds. A preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle the victims were in, had been shot prior to crashing into the tree, in front of the residence, located at 12245 SW 218 Street.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to the scene and transported both victims to Jackson Memorial Hospital South. One victim sustained a gunshot wound to her left leg and is expected to recover. The second victim sustained a gunshot wound to her abdomen and succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
The investigation continues.
