Retail Theft

(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

Detectives from the Miami-Dade Police Department Organized Retail Crime Unit, conducted an investigation that led to the arrest of three females (subjects 1, 2, and 3). Subjects 1 and 2, who are sisters, were arrested on July 26, 2017, subject #3 was arrested the following day. The three females account for 32 confirmed retail thefts at Walgreens and CVS stores. The females would enter the stores and stuff their purses with various women's cosmetic items. As the investigation continued, detectives identified a fourth female who was purchasing the stolen cosmetics, serving as a fencing operation. On August 1, 2017, detectives executed a search warrant at a residence belonging to subject #4, located at 2800 S.W. 79 Court. During the search, detectives located a total of 6,982 cosmetic items valued at $69,368.63. Subject #4 who was at the residence, was arrested and charged with dealing in stolen property. The other three females were charged with several counts of grand theft.
