Traffic Fatality

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --

The Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD), Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating a traffic crash that resulted in the death of a child and multiple people injured.

According to investigators, a Honda SUV was traveling West on 163rd Street, a Nissan Altima was traveling East on 163^rd Street, and a Nissan Maxima was traveling South on North Miami Avenue. The three vehicles collided at the intersection of 163^rd Street and North Miami Avenue. MDPD officers and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to the scene and determined that the child traveling in the Honda SUV was deceased. The other two occupants in the Honda SUV were transported to Aventura Hospital in critical condition. The driver and two passengers in the Nissan Maxima sustained minor injuries and were treated and released from the scene. The two occupants in the Nissan Altima were transported, by ambulance, to Jackson Memorial Hospital North in stable condition.
