Man Impersonates Cop to Steal SUV


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

 

Detectives from the Miami-Dade Police Department, Robbery Bureau, are investigating a robbery that occurred in front of a local market.

According to investigators, the victim was seated in the passenger seat of the vehicle, as he waited for his brother to exit the market. The subject approached the victim, stated that he is a police officer and demanded the victim step out of the vehicle.  Believing that the subject was a police officer, the victim complied and exited the vehicle.  The subject then entered the vehicle and drove away.

Surveillance cameras captured the image of the subject and investigators are seeking the assistance of the community in identifying and/or locating this individual. Video surveillance footage may be obtained from the FTP site.
