Vehicle Description: Taxi cab. The vehicle should have a yellow front bumper, black rear bumper and tinted windows. The vehicle should be missing the passenger side mirror and missing one or both windshield wiper(s). Investigators advise the taxi cab sought in connection with this hit and run investigation is likely to have damage to the front end and windshield.


Hit And Run Leaves Pedestrian Critically Injured

Taxi Cab Hits A Man Walking Across The Street


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Miami-Dade Police Department, Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating a hit and run crash that resulted in a pedestrian being critically injured.

According to investigators, a 48-year-old male was attempting to cross the southbound lanes of West Dixie Highway at NE 144 Street, when he was struck by a Ford, Crown Victoria, taxi cab.  The driver did not stop or render aid.  The Miami-Dade Fire Rescue transported the victim to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital where he is currently listed in critical condition.

Investigators are seeking the assistance of the community in identifying the hit and run driver and/or locating the taxi cab.

The investigation continues.
