According to investigators, shortly after 10:20 a.m., witnesses observed a marked police vehicle that had crashed. The witnesses immediately assisted in removing the injured officer out of the vehicle.  Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to the scene and transported the officer to Ryder Trauma Center.  The officer sustained multiple injuries and his condition is unknown at this time.  Further investigation revealed that there was an additional vehicle involved in the crash and the driver of the vehicle was also transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital in stable condition.  Investigators are gathering all of the details in order to determine the cause of the accident and the direction of travel of all vehicles involved.
