The Miami-Dade Police Department(MDPD), Homicide Bureau is investigating a shooting involving two officers from North Miami Beach Police Department (NMBPD).
According to investigators, shortly after 11:30a.m., a burglary in progress call was received via 911. According to the information provided, the subjects were inside of the residence. NMBPD officers responded and observed the subject vehicle in front of the residence, shots were fired and the driver of the vehicle was struck. The passenger fled on foot and was subsequently apprehended by NMBPD K-9. The subject was bit by K-9 while being taken into custody.
None of the officers were injured.
The subjects were both transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
The investigation continues.
