The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) is conducting an investigation involving detectives from the Miami-Dade Police Department, Northside District, Crime Suppression Team (C.S.T.) which resulted in the death of one person.
According to investigators, the CST detectives conducted a traffic stop at N.W. 15 Avenue and N.W. 68 Terrace, of a red Nissan sedan which was occupied by two males. Detectives gathered identification from the two individuals and conducted a routine records check, which revealed that both males had open arrest warrants. As detectives made their way back to the vehicle to place the subjects under arrest, one of the males fled on foot and the other male was immediately apprehended. A perimeter was established and while one of the detectives was conducting an area search within the perimeter, he located the subject. A confrontation ensued and shots were fired. City of Miami Fire Rescue transported the subject to Jackson Ryder Trauma, where he succumbed to his wounds.
No officers were hurt during the incident.
