The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) is investigating a police shooting involving four Miami-Dade Police Department, South District Officers.
According to investigators, a third party call was received reference an 84 year-old male that was armed and threating to kill himself. As officers arrived they were confronted by the armed man and shots were fired. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded and determined the male deceased on scene. No officers were injured.
Officer #1 has been with the Miami-Dade Police Department for 23 years.
Officers #2 thru 4 have been with the Miami-Dade Police Department for 10 months.
No further information is available at this time. Any additional information will be provided by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement who is the lead investigative agency.
