The Federal Bureau of Investigation was conducting an investigation in which the City of Miami and Miami-Dade Police Departments were assisting.  The subject then fled from the officers and a police pursuit ensued.  During the pursuit, the subject began to shoot at the officers and there was an exchange of gunfire.  The subject was subsequently shot and determined deceased on the scene.  There were no other injuries to the public or law enforcement.  A high-powered rifle was recovered on the scene.  The subject's identification is not available for release due to pending next of kin notification.  No further information will be released at this time.

NOTE: Investigators remain on the scene and morning traffic delays are expected due to road closures. Please seek alternate routes.
