Police Involved Shooting

Violent Domestic Dispute


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) is investigating a police shooting involving a Miami-Dade Police Department officer that resulted in a male wounded.

According to investigators, officers were responding to a violent domestic dispute.  Once the officers arrived, they observed visible signs of injuries to the female victim.  The officers made contact with the subject, a confrontation ensued and shots were fired.  The subject sustained several gunshot wounds to the lower extremities.  Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded and transported the subject to JMH Ryder Trauma Center where he is listed in stable condition. The officer did not sustain any injuries.  He is an 11 year veteran assigned to uniform patrol in the Northwest District.

The investigation continues.
