Shooting Investigation


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Miami-Dade Police Department, Midwest District, is investigating a shooting that occurred in Southwest Miami-Dade County.

According to investigators, at approximately 12:57 p.m., Daniel Rodriguez and Enrique Santana walked into the Burger King, located at 11595 S.W. 40 Street, and engaged in disorderly and disrespectful behavior with the staff. As Rodriguez and Santana exited the restaurant they directed disrespectful comments to Jorge Rodriguez, who was standing outside. Rodriguez and Santana entered their vehicle and brandished a firearm at Jorge Rodriguez. Jorge Rodriguez retrieved a firearm from his vehicle, as Rodriguez and Santana circled the parking lot in their vehicle, and shots were fired.

Jorge Rodriguez sustained a small laceration to his back and was treated and released from Kendall Regional Medical Center. 

The investigation remains active, and all three males are in police custody.

Update #1: Enrique Santana and Daniel Rodriguez have been arrested and charged accordingly.
