Attempted Murder Subject Shoots At Detectives


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Miami-Dade Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in the area of N.W. 119 Street & N.W. 2 Avenue.  Detectives were conducting an investigation involving a shooting that occurred on June 22, 2015.  Through investigative means, they were able to identify a possible residence for the subject responsible for the shooting.  As they surveilled the residence, a vehicle was seen driving away and detectives proceeded to follow.  The subject, Edward Lamar Greggs, drove to the area of N.W. 125 Street & N.W. 2 Avenue.  He then turned onto N.W. 119 Street and awaited for the detective's vehicle and opened fire striking the passenger door.  Investigators later located the subject vehicle at an apartment complex, 21250 N.W. 14 Place, and were able to determine the subject's apartment number.  He was subsequently taken into custody without incident.  No officers were injured during the incident.
