Two People Shot

Drive-By Shooting


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Miami-Dade Police Department, Northside District is investigating a drive-by shooting that resulted in two people shot.  According to investigators, a 911 call was received in reference to multiple people shot.  Once officers arrived, they discovered an elderly female suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.  The preliminary investigation reveals that Ms. Louise Lester was outside of her residence retrieving mail from her mailbox when an older model Toyota Camry traveling westbound on N.W. 65 Street opened fire striking Ms. Lester in the chest.  Miami-Dade Fire Rescue transported Ms. Lester to Ryder Trauma Center where she is undergoing surgery.  Witnesses stated that a male was also shot and was transported to the hospital in a vehicle.  Further investigation revealed that Malik Wilson was shot in the lower extremity.  Wilson is listed in stable condition at Ryder Trauma Center.  The subject vehicle fled southbound on N.W. 27 Avenue.
