Shooting / Residential Burglary

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --

Detectives from the General Investigations Unit of the Miami-Dade Police Department’s Kendall District, are investigating a shooting in Kendall this morning, in which Postal Service employee narrowly escaped injury.

Detectives say the letter carrier was on his mail route in the area of SW 93rd Avenue & 90th Street, when he came upon what is thought to have been a burglary in progress. He observed two individuals running from a residence and entering a black SUV. He attempted to follow the subjects, at which time they began shooting at him. He was not hit.

Subsequent investigations determined that the residence from which the subjects fled had been burglarized, and two laptop computers stolen.

The investigation continues.
