Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD), Traffic Homicide Bureau, is investigating a traffic accident that left an MDPD motorman injured. According to investigators at approximately 2:28 p.m., the MDPD motorman was traveling southbound on S.W.137 Avenue when the driver of vehicle #2 ran the stop sign while attempting to make a left turn onto S.W. 137 Avenue, causing the accident. The officer was ejected from his motorcycle. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department responded to the scene and transported the officer to Kendall Regional Hospital Trauma Center. We have since learned that he is in stable condition and continues to be evaluated by Medical personnel. The driver of vehicle #2 was transported to West Kendall Baptist Hospital with minor injuries. The investigation continues.
