Man arrested for ramming police vehicle and fleeing.

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --

The Miami-Dade Police Department, Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating an incident where a man rammed his vehicle into a police cruiser as he fled.

According to investigators, officers observed a Mercedes Benz stopped at a gas station, located at NW 47 Street and NW 27 Avenue. The Mercedes matched the description of a vehicle that previously fled from officers. As the police cruisers approached the Mercedes, Alberto Montejo, entered the vehicle and rammed a police cruiser as he fled. The subject drove for several blocks and subsequently crashed into a civilian vehicle on NW 42 Street and NW 29 Avenue, where he was placed under arrest. No injuries were reported. The subject has been charged accordingly.
