Traffic Fatality


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Miami-Dade Police Department Traffic Homicide is working a traffic accident that left on person dead and five others in the hospital.

 

According to investigators at approximately 4:45a.m. At the intersection of SW 144 Street SW 157 Avenue. A toyota corolla was traveling south bound on SW 157 Ave, when it collided with a Yukon SUV that was attempting to make a left turn on SW 144 Street to go west bound. The impact caused the Yukon to roll on its side and both vehicles caught fire.

 

The Yukon had five occupants. The corolla was just the driver.

Upon officers arrival their quick actions resulted in saving the life of one of the victims that was trapped inside the Yukon. Unfortunately one victim from the same vehicle was pronounced deceased on scene.

 All other victims were transported to Kendall Regional Hospital Trauma.

 No further information is available at this time. The names of the victims will be provided when they become available. 

UPDATE: The names of the parties involved have been listed.

It appears speed was a factor. Charges if any are still pending.

Investigation continues.
