Two Training Specialist Arrested for Bribery and Official Misconduct


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Miami-Dade Police Department Professional Compliance Bureau, Public Corruption Section, along with the Miami-Dade County Regulatory and Economic Resources Department and the Miami-Dade County State Attorney’s Office announce charges filed against Ms. Cheryl Jones and Ms. Marcy Fort, both classified as a Training Specialist 2 of the Miami-Dade Regulatory and Economic Resources Department.  

The investigation stems from information received from the Miami-Dade County Regulatory and Economic Resources Department regarding several discrepancies with Passenger (For Hire) Transportation License examinations. The investigation revealed that Ms. Jones and Ms. Fort together had altered 133 examinations to reflect a passing score on tests in which the applicants had failed. In addition, Ms. Fort accepted a One-Hundred Dollar ($100.00) bribe from an undercover detective in an exchange for a passing score on their license examination.
