On October 27th, 2011, the Port of Miami and the Panama Canal Authority will sign a new Memorandum of Understanding between the two entities at the Port of Miami.
The Administrator of the Panama Canal Authority and the Director of the Port of Miami will briefly discuss the importance of the recently passed Panama Free Trade Agreement as well as how the Port's Deep Dredge and the expansion of the Panama Canal will promote growth in both Panama and South Florida.
"We look forward to strengthening our relationship with Panama, an important trading partner that provides strong growth potential for the Port of Miami", said Port Director Bill Johnson.
Guests will include Alberto Aleman Zubieta, Administrator of the Panama Canal, local dignitaries, members of the Panamanian American community as well as local and international press.
