U.S. Treasury Secretary Lew to visit PortMiami to highlight President Obama's trade agenda

(MIAMI, March 18, 2015) - U.S. Treasury Secretary Jacob J. Lew will visit PortMiami on Thursday, March 19th for a tour of the Florida East Coast Railway on-dock intermodal rail facility, as well as other Port infrastructure improvements, such as a new tunnel linking the Port directly to Florida’s Interstate Highway System, and the Deep Dredge that is deepening the Port’s main harbor channel from -42 feet to a depth of -50/52 feet. PortMiami will be the only major global logistics hub south of Virginia capable of handling bigger post-Panamax vessels.  These projects are providing the world’s top ocean carriers with the convenience of fast, reliable quality service.
