(Miami, November 29, 2016) – The kick-off to renovate and expand PortMiami’s signature Cruise Terminal F is taking place on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. Officials from Miami-Dade County, MSC Cruises (MSC) and Munilla Construction Management (MCM) will gather for the official unveiling of the terminal’s rendering and to experience the launch of construction equipment onsite.
Once completed, Terminal F will serve the cruise industry’s new generation of cruise vessels, including MSC’s Seaside, scheduled to sail year-round from Miami starting in December 2017.
BACKGROUND In December 2015, MSC Cruises and Miami-Dade County entered into Amendment No. I, to its Preferential Berthing Agreement, which committed MSC to homeport its newest vessel – MSC Seaside – in Miami beginning winter 2017 and committed the County to make certain capital improvements to Cruise Terminal F to accommodate the 5,170 passenger vessel.
