PortMiami welcomes Caribbean Shipping Association to Miami

(MIAMI, May 10, 2014) – PortMiami, in collaboration with the Caribbean Shipping Association (CSA), is hosting the 13th annual Caribbean Shipping Executives’ Conference from May 12 – 14, 2014, at the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay, 1633 North Bayshore Drive.

The three-day event will be attended by executives in the shipping industry from the Caribbean, Latin America, North America and Europe. The conference will include seminars, networking events, and discussions on topics ranging from new and existing trade opportunities in the Caribbean, to port security, to the effect of invasive species on cargo and vessels.

On the agenda is an update on the Panama Canal expansion project and PortMiami Director Juan M. Kuryla will be making a presentation on Wednesday morning entitled, PortMiami – Looking at the Caribbean.

The Shipping Executives Conference is the first of two conferences hosted by the CSA annually. The CSA, the voice of the Caribbean shipping industry, was established in 1971 to facilitate development of an efficient, viable Caribbean shipping industry. Conferences hosted by the CSA provide a forum in which matters relevant to the growth and development of Caribbean shipping are discussed.
