PortMiami

(MIAMI, January 5, 2015) – On Sunday, January 4th PortMiami, the Cruise Capital of the World, experienced one of the cruise season’s busiest days. There were nine cruise ships lined-up with nearly 42,000 total passengers processed.

The PortMiami Team in partnership with the cruise lines and multiple law enforcement agencies were ready for seamless operations.

“I commend PortMiami’s team for a job well done,” said Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez. “PortMiami continues to work hard in order to maintain its standing as the Cruise Capital of the World. The PortMiami Team understands the importance of customer service and making an outstanding first impression. The cruise lines and their passengers are vital to the continuous growth and development of the tourism industry in Miami-Dade County. We want Miami to be their #1 port.”

“PortMiami’s #1 priority is our customer,” said Port Director Juan M. Kuryla. “PortMiami offers its cruise partners and passengers top customer service. Our cruise facilities are the most modern in the world, providing a quick and easy boarding and departure experience, for this reason Sunday’s operations were a tremendous success. We want every cruise passenger to begin their vacation experience the minute they arrive to our Port.”

Sunday’s line-up included the Celebrity Eclipse, Disney Wonder, Carnival Splendor, Carnival Conquest, Norwegian Epic, Oceania Riviera, Aida Vita, Crystal Serenity, and the Resorts World Bimini Superfast.

Later this year, PortMiami is set to welcome Norwegian Cruise Line’s new 4,300-passenger cruise ship the Norwegian Escape. The Escape will sail year-round to the Caribbean beginning in November. Other cruise lines also are expanding fleet operations at the Port, including Costa Cruises, which is adding a second seasonal vessel, the Costa Mediterranea for sailings from Miami to the Caribbean.

PortMiami’s 2015 cruise line up includes 34 ships and 15 different cruise brands, including: Aida Cruises, Azamara Club Cruises, Carnival Cruise Lines, Celebrity Cruises, Costa Cruises, Crystal Cruises, Disney Cruise Line, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, MSC Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, P&O Cruises, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Resorts World Bimini, and Royal Caribbean International.
