(MIAMI, January 15, 2015) – PortMiami has been honored with the 2015 Editor-in-Chief Award for Best U.S. Homeport in the February 2015 issue of Porthole Cruise Magazine, which is available on newsstands today.

Porthole Cruise Magazine is ranked among the nation's leading consumer cruise and travel publications. The magazine’s Editor-in-Chief Award recognizes PortMiami for Best U.S. Homeport for going above and beyond in customer service, quality operations, and all around excellence.

"Miami is one of the world's most exciting cities to explore before or after a cruise," said Bill Panoff, publisher and editor-in-chief of Porthole Cruise Magazine. "PortMiami and its surrounding area offers shopping, entertainment, culture -- and one of the most quintessential sailaways imaginable."

“This award recognizes PortMiami for excellence,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez. “Congratulations to the entire PortMiami team and dedicated port partners that include cruise lines, the International Longshoremen’s Association, Transportation Security Administration, U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the U.S. Coast Guard, among others. Thank you for making PortMiami’s cruise passenger experience a top priority.”

“PortMiami continues to work hard to maintain its worldwide standing as the Cruise Capital of the World,” said Port Director Juan M. Kuryla. The Port team understands the importance of customer service and making an outstanding first impression. The cruise lines and their passengers are vital to the continual growth and development of the tourism industry in Miami-Dade County. We want passengers to begin their vacation experience the minute they arrive to our Port.”
